There will be some changes for issurence of SIN card this year.I forget the details but you can search online to see if it will affect international students. According to my experience,the human resource centers in Ottawa city have different approach to the application of international students. I was refused by teh one located in Rideau Center but got it from the one located in Licolnsfield last year. You can take bus #95 (or 97?) to Lincolnsfield.Accross the bridge and go to a shopping mall near to teh bus stop.The human resource office is located in the 1st floor.Don't forget to bring your ID (passport).Once you fill out the application form,you will receive the SIN card within 2-3 weeks or a little bit longer.
