An Ottawa fire official says there are multiple fatalities after a public transit bus was struck by a Via Rail train this morning.
Several others are injured, fire spokesman Marc Messier told CP24.
The passenger train derailed after hitting the OC Transpo double-decker bus at a level crossing. The front end of the bus was torn apart.

The collision occurred near a train station at Fallowfield Road and Woodroffe Avenue in the suburb of Barrhaven around 8:45 a.m.
Ornge is sending an air ambulance to the scene from Toronto.
Dozens of emergency workers are at the scene as part of a mass critical incident response.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada says it is sending investigators to the scene.
