好事应该做周全了。
干脆把加拿大驻中国使馆给我的回信全文都贴出来。因为信中还提到了父母来探亲时一些其他需要注意的事情。或许对某些朋友有一些参考价值。

Dear Sir/Madam,
The EXPIRY DATE on your visa means: you must ENTER Canada before this date.
The visa validity is determined by a visa officer. Single-entry visas are normally valid for six months, and multiple-entry visas may be valid for longer periods. Please make sure you clearly indicate your intended travel date on the application form.
However, please note that if you underwent a medical examination in connection with your application, you must arrive in Canada within one year of the date of the examination. For this reason, if your departure for Canada is likely to take place more than ten months after the date of your medical examination, you will have to re-apply for a visa application.
When you arrive in Canada, the officer at the port of entry will determine whether you may enter Canada and how long you may stay. The officer will stamp your passport or advise you how long you may stay in Canada. You must leave Canada on or before the date set by the officer or have your status extended by an officer in Canada. The stamp placed in your passport by a Canadian official is valid for six months unless otherwise amended by an officer. Feel free to ask questions if you are unsure about anything.
After you arrive, you may want to change the conditions of your visit. This is possible in special cases. You must do this before your status as a temporary resident expires. Apply to extend your stay or visit at least 30 days before your visitor’s status expires. Please visit CIC's website for general information on
changing the conditions or extending your stay in Canada.
If you were given a student or work permit, the expiry date is marked on the document.
Yours sincerely,
