My girlfriend is from SH. I find she is different from other girls I have gone out with. Also, I feel that there might be some cultural differences between us. I am just trying to find out if these differences are origionated from the cultural differences between Shanghai and northern part of China, or is it just a individual difference. 我n年前去上海，在南京路上看到很多美女...不是说长得特别漂亮，而是特别有味道。她们穿着很得体，打扮很清秀，看起来很养眼..也许现在国内各个城市的女孩子都很会打扮了，美女越来越多，上海美女就不显得突出了。
哦...还有，我对上海女孩子的另一个突出印象就是...很多上海女孩很嗲,很会撒娇..总让我这个北方女孩瞠目结舌~~

the main difference is your are a Banana,and she is from China, major culture difference, major difference in value.

Life experiences do have a big impact on what people are. Diff. experiences make a difference in the way people perceive things. People with diffrent experiences have different values. It's only natural. Having said that, I don't think I am a banana. I kept a lot of good chinese values. Equipped with these fundemantal values, I have adapted to a different culuture, in which I've built a new life. I have made some adjustments in the way I see things and do things, but I am no banana. Knowing both cultures and having acquired the ability to servive in more than one society does not make me less of a chinese.

说了14年英语了.现在有个女朋友,以一般的例子来看,他很小就在这里了.有个中国女朋友,总要写汉字了吧.汉字写的情诗才有意境啊.

My girlfriend speaks perfect English, but we do speak our mother tongue, chinese when we are among ourselves. I don't agree that Chinese is the language that best enable us to express our feelings and love. English is just as good. When we write love notes to each other, we do write in English, and we have been doing fine, as fine as you have writen Chinese love notes to your girlfriend.
