Convicted Child Abuser Dr. Ben Levin Admits He was Responsible for Everything the Ministry Did

In the OISE Newsletter Winter 2009, Adele Halliday asked Dr. Ben Levin in an interview “What were you doing for the Ministry?” Dr. Levin responded “I was the Deputy Minister of Education. In that role, I was the Chief Civil Servant. I was responsible for the operation of the Ministry of Education and everything that they do; I was brought in to implement the new education policy.”
Institute for Canadian Values President, Dr. Charles McVety says “It is sickening that the man who is guilty of making child pornography, counselling to sexually abuse a child and possession of child pornography was also in charge of creating and overseeing the new sex education program for our children. Imagine the horror of Dr. Levin possessing images of children being raped in 2008 at the same time he was in charge of Ontario’s education. The same mind that was counselling a mother to penetrate her 8 year old child and saying “it is important to make the child cry” was given oversight of teaching materials that promise to introduce complex and explicit sexual topics to our little children.”
McVety goes on to say “the fruit of this poisonous tree must be fully examined in order to protect our children from the mind of such a predator. It is critical that the Ben Levin’s sex education curriculum be fully withdrawn and investigated. Premier Kathleen Wynne and Minister Liz Sandals have misled parents saying Dr. Levin had nothing to do with the curriculum. Both the Premier and the Education Minister must be held accountable for putting our children at risk while lying about Dr. Levin’s involvement.”
