Drifted out of calibration over about a month - costs for evaluation and recalibration, shipping are uneconomical versus buying a better unit. No sense sending good money after bad. This unit is probably only good if you really have high radon levels. It is not surprising that Health Canada cautions: "Digital Radon Monitors for short- and long-term testing are also available on the market, however, Health Canada can not recommend their use".
Initially the unit registered around 40 and ranged up to 68 and back again. Then there was a steady trend upward to above 100 ... As a test putting the unit in a large plastic bag (limiting any radon access) and then was no corresponding (3.8 day half life) reduction in the reading. Even shutting the unit off for 10 days - leaving it in the bag. Resetting it and allowing 48 hours resulted in a high reading. So suspected zero drifting error.
So bottom line - no confidence in readings.
