As a lawyer, a former communication analyst, and a former journalist, I thought you could have done better.
以下是本人起草的致加拿大政府公开信. 同意者请转用, 转发!
_______
I write to express my concern about Canada’s stance on refugee resettlement in face of the brutal terror attack on the innocent people of France. I urge my government to suspend the refugee resettlement program until measures are in place to ensure that Canada and Canadians are safe from the barbaric conduct of the ISIS. I also urge my government to strengthen Canada's contribution in the fight against ISIS.
A senior official in the new Prime Minister's office has indicated that his government would stay the course on resettling 25,000 supposedly Syrian refugees by the end of the year. The official also indicated that the Government will proceed with its plans to withdraw Canada’s CF-18s from the fight against ISIS.
This is irresponsible!
Bringing in such a large number of refugees without the proper security check is irresponsible! Where's your information source for the following statement? There are reports that up to 4000 ISIS terrorists are among the 20,000 “refugees” heading to the UK. If Canada brings 25,000 without proper security check, we too could be allowing 4000 terrorists invade our peaceful homeland. Even one terrorist is too many!
Bringing in such a large number of people to Canada without making sure that infrastructure and support are in place is irresponsible! Refugees will need housing, food, schools, medical assistance, as well as money, all of which take time to arrange. A responsible government will exercise its diplomatic strength to reach out to the countries neighbouring Syria and Iraq to properly and temporarily host the refugees before bringing them to cold winter in Canada where they join the ranks of the poor and homeless. Bringing in 25,000 without making sure that these arrangements are in place is responsible you meant irresponsible?! Placing such a burden on the Canadian people redundant without consulting them is irresponsible!
If the Government of Canada wants to stop the flow of the refugees, it should step up its efforts aimed at defeating the ISIS terrorists. Protecting Canadians starts from keeping the terrorists away from home! Protecting refugees starts with defeating those that steal their homes and kill their loved ones. Withdrawing Canada’s military contribution to this fight is irresponsible!
The hasty decision of the new Prime Minister and his government may have catastrophic consequences. Please suspend the refugee resettlement program! Strengthen the fight against ISIS! Be a responsible government. Put Canada and Canadians first!
