This is not the reason ! If e-business market has large market, cost of shipping will be lower. For same reason, the shipping fee of Canada with small market is much higher than USA for small sellers. When you buy goods in Canada from large online sellers like Staples, Bestbuy, digikey, Dell, shipping fee will be free if over certain goods value. Canada has much smaller population than UK. Europe is too traditional and less developed in internet world. China is no 1 in this field. USA is No 2. Canada is following USA rather than China英国找不到那么多便宜送快递的。

Fake products is not unique in e-business. Alibaba and Taobao have good rating/score system. Buyers can choose sellers with good ratings/feedback. Non-webstore sellers have no such rating/score system, so actually are worse than Alibaba and Taobao. North America should learn good things from China (while China should learn regulations from Western world). Based on my purchase experience both for consumer and business products, it is most convenient to buy products from China, not too bad in North America, worst in Europe. Both big and small Manufacturers can easily sell directly from Alibaba which has promoted Chinese manufacture and export greatly. Without Alibaba, It is very difficult to buy Chinese products from China, unless you like to pay big agent fee to resellers, and it is hard to judge if resellers are selling fake/bad products. Dell and Amazon webstores are goods examples in North America. Many physical stores have been closed in North America (like Zellers). Costco and Walmart are traditional stores, still not too bad, but will lose market share. Consumer e-market in North America is not too bad, but business e-market is very less developed.
