currency is much much bigger than stock market, the trend for US dollar to go lower is very clear ,at least short term until March.

Another phenomenon I observed is people's arrogance. Have a couple of friends there, they think silicon valley is the only place in the world worth living. And it's the only place that will do well no matter what. A friend has two houses there with big mortage, he is planning the 3rd, oh my, he is so proud to live there, best assets in the world. They also think social media and big data becomes the new social infrastructure just like tap water and electricity. Mi ge, to be honest, I don't know and I don't understand. I am a bit old fashioned. Not that I am against social media. But some of them don't know that most mission critical financial applications including stock exchange were written even in COBOL. Also there seems not that much that only silicon valley could do but nobody else could do.
