SDRAM

want to add some more memery to my p133 (which has 32 Mb now). one guy who sells SDRAM said i need to make sure the motherboard suports SDRAM.

Please, how to know if the motherboard suports or not?

电压不一样。EDORAM5V.SDRAM3.3V.你可以在CMOS里看看有没有调节内存的设置。或者主板上有没有相关跳线。把你的主板型号写出来，我帮你查查。

还有注意现在一般都是133总线的SDRAM。即使你的机器支持SDRAM，肯定也只能支持100总线的。现在100的反而比133贵。俺去年底买了一片128M 100总线的，二十多块，现在要五十多了。

i will open the case and look at the motherboard #. wait, here is the manual. no, this is not right one, name is 386-sx-16/20 main board user's manual. i have to look at the board directly.

基本上可以猜到，你的主板只能用 72PIN 的RAM ，
所以你买的 SDRAM 是168PIN 的，插不上去。

现在这种老的 72PIN 的RAM 反而贵，很难找。

照我的意思，别升级了，买个新主板，新CPU和新内存，把旧的那套卖了。硬盘，光驱，还有其它的都留下。花不了几个钱，性能上高好几个档次。想的话，我再给你具体的建议。

不是要升级，其实电脑在家一般用用，主要是上网和儿子玩点游戏，再买个觉得没太大必要
因看到有卖内存不贵，想花点小钱，改进改进，也非一定要搞的。

刚打开机盖看了看(第一次开盖)，照各位的意思，看来不行，机里有个图纸，画了4个槽
标有‘SIMM SOCKET’，四个槽里都有东西，估计是4X8MB。我猜的对不对。 这是不是你们
说的72PIN

对了，主板号，也不知哪个是有个黄色条码后有个数 ‘PBA642247-800”
下边是 C00364670； 图纸上有个 646204-001

how do you think the following stuff:

4x32MB 72-pin SIMM, EDO, 60ns, non-parity $35/pair

4x64MB PC-100 SDRAM $ 20/ea

what is the 4 x 32 MB 72-pin SIMM, can I use this kind RAM. is one pair = 64 MB? can i use a pair of 32 MB and a pair of 8Mb ( the old ones in the machine)

这个你可以用。 买一对就行了。 你这机器，装太多内存也是浪费。

以前8M 的还可以用一对，所以，32*2+8*2==80 足够了。

你整个系统，目前估计也就值几十块钱。
