收到教育局的notice---- merivale IB confirmed, all changes approved,new FM gifted in Bell High

The following is a summary of the final decisions made by the Board at its meeting of 1 March 2017. You can read the detailed list of changes on our website. These changes will come into effect September 2017:

· Leslie Park Public School will close and its students will attend Briargreen Public School (JK- grade 6);

· Grant Alternative School will close and its students will attend Regina Street Public School (JK-grade 6) for the Alternative Program;

· Sir Robert Borden High School will become a grade 7–12 school;

· Greenbank Middle School will close and students will attend Sir Robert Borden High School for grades 7-12;

· Knoxdale Public School will continue to be a JK to Grade 6 Early French Immersion and Middle French Immersion program school;

· Manordale Public School will continue to be a JK to Grade 6 English with Core French and Early French Immersion program school;

· Churchill Alternative School will continue to be a JK to Grade 6 Alternative with Core French school;

· Middle French Immersion program attendance boundaries in the area bounded by Baseline Road, Woodroffe Avenue, Highway 417, and both sides of Morrison Drive will be revised to redirect that area to D. Roy Kennedy Public School; and

· the Leslie Park Public School Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) classes will be relocated to Woodroffe Avenue Public School, and the Greenbank Middle School Gifted Early French Immersion class will be relocated to Bell High School.

Merivale High School Family of Schools

Trustees voted to approve the recommendations as outlined in Schedule B to Report17010,pertaining to the Merivale High School Family of Schools as follows:Schedule B:
Merivale High School’s grade structure will be expanded to include grades 7 to 12 effective September 2017.Sir Winston Churchill Public School grade 7 and 8 English program with Core French and Early French Immersion programs will be redirected to Merivale High School effective September 2017. Sir Winston Churchill Public School Dual Support Program (DSP) class will berelocated to D. Roy Kennedy Public School effective September 2017. Carleton Heights Public School grade 7 and 8 English program with Core French and Middle French Immersion programs will be redirected to Merivale High School effective September 2017.
The Carleton Heights Public School junior/intermediate Developmental Disabilities (DDP) Specialized Program class will remain at CarletonHeights Public School until all the students currently enrolled in the program transition to a secondary program.
A new International Baccalaureate (IB) program will be introduced at Merivale High School.
The new program will be phased into the school beginning with grade 9 students upon the approval of program certification

Merivale的gifted program按计划是要关的，今后高中的gifted只集中在Bell 和Lisgar+Glebe。

IBO 认证申请递交的deadline是每年的四月一日，这个决定给申请开了绿灯(site identified). CBSS的IB program在北美IBO中排在top 5%之内，为OCDSB加了很多分。。。所以2018没有意外。有意外就是board失职

CBSS会受到影响是肯定的。。Katimavik和WEJ的转换就是个例子。。

西部增加一个IB，全市IB的容量将增加一倍。。IB扩容无论从哪个角度考虑都是个好消息。。

将来何叔家邻居对门把脚的网友也能来报喜了
