结论依然是两个字: 卡北!!Should be,
If you check http://maps.ottawa.ca/geoottawa/ (as I said, extremely, extremely useful), you would find that it's NOT an ideal location, at least not for single homes:
First, it's lower than 96 meter above sea level, the lowest in nearby area (96+ and 104+ to the north of Strandheard). AND it's very close to the flooding river bed planned by city in the south.
Second, its zoning is R3Z, which accommodates a mixture of townhomes and single homes. The housing density would be higher than that of RR, and house lots will be smaller.
Third, It's not close enough to good schools, at least not yet. I believe it's within John McCrae's admittance now, but there will be a great chance it will be out once another high school is built and school districts are redrawn.
Of course for townhomes, that location is more acceptable. Unfortunately the convenience (close to all amenities) itself won't guarantee the house value there. In Barrhaven, Richcraft's 'Woodroffe Estate' area (To the east of Canadian Tire) is only minutes walk away from Barrhaven Market Place and Park & Ride, and it takes much less time to commute to downtown or Algonquin College. That location is obviously better than this new Minto area. But for the last 10 years, the housing price there has only risen up mildly (although still performed better than other Barrhaven areas). On the contrary, the townhomes in Kanata North already climbed up to 400K level, and still in high demand and shortage.
