Police said they were dealing with "an incident" but gave no further details.
A Reuters reporter near the scene said she saw 10 police cars rushing towards London Bridge.

A witness told the BBC she saw a speeding white van veering into pedestrians.
The witness said the van hit five to six people. London's transport authority said London Bridge rail station had been closed at the request of the police.
Reuters spoke with a witness who said she saw three people with knife wounds. Reuters was unable to immediately verify the statement by the witness.
Police also said they were responding to a separate incident at Borough Market with armed officers on the scene. It was not immediately clear if the two incidents are related.

Hearing of the slaughter of at least seven people, Trump took the moment to declare that the United States needed his proposed tougher immigration laws for safety.
He tweeted: 'We need to be smart, vigilant and tough. We need the courts to give us back our rights. We need the Travel Ban as an extra level of safety!'
It then took the president nearly 10 minutes to offer his condolences to the victims and offer his country's support in the wake of England's most recent attack.
