Police request public's help to ID hit-and-run driver who struck child

Ottawa police are seeking the public’s help to identify a driver who was involved in a hit-and-run collision Nov. 30 that injured a teenaged cyclist.

According to police, the 13-year-old boy was delivering newspapers near the intersection of Kennevale Drive and Hennepin Street in the Barrhaven district when a black vehicle struck the boy and sped away.

The boy sustained minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.

Police are asking the driver of the car to contact investigators regarding the incident. Police are also asking the public to report any known details about the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call 613-236-1222 ext. 2481. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
