I sharpened my skates with a knife sharpener and it slides on the ice.?
Is there a way that i could fix this by having a pro sharpen my skates at the ice rink?
Best Answer: Ice blades have two edges, the inside and outside. Between them is called the hollow. When a pro sharpens them, he shaves the hollow, allowing the two edges to become sharp, preventing sliding on the ice. You may have taken out the hollow out of your blades. Definitely take them to a pro sharpener to see if they can be recut. I hope they are fine and not damaged. If you did not sharpen them very much, they may be able to fix them. Good luck!
