A 29-year-old Ottawa was arrested Friday and will face charges for carrying a firearm in his vehicle.
The Ottawa police Direct Action Response Team (DART) received information that the suspect, Abdulaziz Muffareh, was in possession of a loaded firearm.
The suspect was arrested while driving in the area of Woodroffe Avenue and Strandherd Drive, after which a loaded handgun and ammunition was found in the vehicle, police said.
Muffareh will be charged with several firearm-related offences, including possession of a loaded firearm and occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm.
He is being held for show cause on Saturday.
