Minassian is a surname of Armenian origin (Minasyan), mostly found today in Iran.

Armenia is a former Soviet Republic, 95% are Christian (92.5% Armenian Apostolic Church, 2.3% other Christians), there are less than 1% Yazidis, Jews and very few Kurd and Muslims (less than 1000 in the entire country).

Iran is a majority Shia Muslim (92%) with a 7% Suni Muslim minority.

The name Minassian (Minasyan) is also found in Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Lebanon and Syria.

There are many people named Minassian in the USA and UK, mostly from the Iranian immigration. Some well know Iranian-American as philanthropist Arsen Minasian and Armenian-British musician Isaiah Minasian.
