Planning primer: Pinecrest and Queensview Planning Study
Foster Farm Community Centre, 1065 Ramsey Crescent

- The purpose of this project is to undertake a review of the lands surrounding the future Pinecrest and Queensview Light Rail Transit stations to guide future development that supports transit and integrates with the surrounding residential neighbourhoods. This two-hour session will introduce the land use planning process and provide a basic overview of the supporting provincial legislation, and official plans and zoning.

- The Conseil des écoles publiques de l'Est de l'Ontario and the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est, in conjunction with Ottawa Public Health (OPH), are hosting information sessions for parents to learn about cannabis. The sessions will tackle the myths, cover what is known about the upcoming new laws, discuss how to have that talk with your youth, look at ways to protect youth and give an overview of available services. Representatives from OPH, Ottawa Police and the School Board will be available to answer questions.

The following consultations are also available next week:
- Maitland Avenue Highway 417 Bridge Cycling Improvements: A report has been prepared to document the planning and design process and the recommended plan to incorporate cycling infrastructure on the bridge. The report is available for review until June 7.
- Commemorative naming proposal: The City of Ottawa’s Commemorative Naming Committee is conducting public consultations to name the arena within the Manotick Community Centre, located at 5572 Doctor Leach Drive, “Mike O’Neil Arena” in recognition of his extensive community service. Mr. O’Neil is a long-time Manotick resident and devoted community advocate. He has championed many local initiatives and has been involved with significant fundraising activities. With a keen passion for hockey, Mr. O’Neil has spent years involved in the local hockey community. His commitment and leadership has resulted in substantial community enhancements for Manotick residents and businesses.
