Traffic impacts in Ottawa for the coming days – beginning Friday, August 17

Upcoming events and projects will have the following impacts on Ottawa traffic:

  • Queen Street: From Friday, August 17 to Tuesday, September 18, Queen Street will be closed for construction between O’Connor Street and Metcalfe Street.
  • Kirkwood Avenue: Kirkwood Avenue will be closed between Byron Avenue and Clare Street beginning at 7 am on Saturday, August 18 until 6 pm on Sunday, August 19. Signed detours will be in place. Access to properties located within the closed portion of Kirkwood will be maintained north and south of Iona Street. A complete closure will be in place at the Iona Street and Kirkwood Avenue intersection. OC Transpo routes 16 and 81 will be rerouted. Visit octranspo.com for full details.
  • Terry Fox Drive: From Wednesday, August 22 until Friday, September 28, there will be intermittent lanes closures on Terry Fox Drive from Didsbury Road to Campeau Drive to allow for construction. Lane closures will be limited to off-peak and overnight hours.
  • Mackenzie King Bridge: Lane reductions will be in place for construction on the Mackenzie King Bridge between Elgin Street and Nicholas Street from Wednesday, August 22 to Friday, September 7. The closure will be limited to off-peak and overnight hours.

Events

  • Westboro FUSE: Richmond Road will be closed between Golden Avenue and McRae Avenue from 6 am on Saturday, August 18 to 11 pm on Sunday, August 19.
  • A Taste of Manotick: Manotick Main Street will be closed between Bridge Street and Currier Street from 2 to 10 pm on Saturday, August 18.
  • Independence Day Parade: Road closures from 10 to 11:30 am on Sunday, August 19:
    • Wellington Street (Eastbound) between Bank & Elgin
    • Elgin Street (Southbound) between Wellington Street and Laurier Avenue
    • Laurier Avenue between Elgin and Ottawa City Hall
