US attorney general William Barr has allowed federal prosecutors to probe alleged irregularities in the presidential election, prompting a top justice department official to quit.

The official, Richard Pilger, would have overseen such investigations.

Any such cases would normally be the remit of individual states, but Mr Barr said this was not a hard and fast rule.

Donald Trump refuses to accept Joe Biden's projected victory, and has made unsubstantiated fraud claims.

The president's campaign is seeking an emergency injunction in Pennsylvania to prevent Mr Biden's victory being certified in the state.

The president-elect's projected win there on Saturday took him over the threshold of 270 electoral college votes needed to secure victory nationwide.

接下来走人的是CIA Director Gina Haspel和FBI Director Christopher Wray?

The Pentagon’s top intelligence official is leaving his post, becoming the latest in a series of high profile departures from the Defense Department.

Retired Navy Vice Adm. Joseph Kernan, the defense department’s Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence has left his position according to a defense official. It not immediately clear if Kernan resigned or was fired.

Another official said Kernan had plan to leave the administration sometime after the election but his departure has been accelerated.

Kernan sent the following message to his colleagues upon his resignation:
“I tendered my resignation as USD (I&S) which will take effect today. I want to thank all of you for your tireless commitment to our nation and supporting me personally over the last three years. It has been my honor to serve with all of you.
My family and I have long planned this departure and I leave knowing that our efforts will continue given your unrelenting dedication to the security of this Nation.”
Kernan has been in the post since 2017 following an unanimous Senate confirmation.

Trump announced on Twitter Monday that he had fired Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, and that Christopher Miller, who serves as director of the National Counterterrorism Center, will become acting secretary "effective immediately."

接下来哪些部长被开,哪些人走人?

会不会是床铺想武装保权,不想主动和平交权呢?

国防部和中央情报局可能都得换。

床铺就是个老小孩,想干啥就干啥,做事情也不慎重一点。最后两个月了。

Two DHS officials forced to resign by White House

From CNN's Alex Marquardt and Geneva Sands

Two Department of Homeland Security officials have been forced to resign by the White House, according to sources familiar with the resignations.

A top official in DHS' cyber arm has resigned, amid a national security shakeup by the Trump administration. Bryan Ware has served as assistant director for cybersecurity at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. And DHS Assistant Secretary for International Affairs Valerie Boyd also resigned amid pressure from the White House, officials tell CNN.

DHS, CISA and the White House declined to comment.

Ware's resignation letter, seen by CNN, is addressed to President Trump and says his resignation is effective Friday. In it, he writes that it has been an honor to serve, highlighting his work on election security and the Covid-19 response.

But his farewell letter to staff indicates that he did not want to step down.

He says that he is leaving “with much sadness” and that “it’s too soon.” He went on to list their accomplishments during his tenure. “We secured election day from foreign interference. Boom!” he wrote.

A senior administration official told CNN that CIA Director Gina Haspel has been iced out of an intelligence meeting that was to take place at the White House Friday that included President Trump, Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe and other top intelligence officials.

The official acknowledged that while her attendance is not mandatory, it doesn’t bode well for Haspel, although some of the President’s advisers and outside Republican allies continue to try to talk him out of firing her in this critical transition period.

The CIA declined to comment when asked if Haspel was iced out of the meeting. The White House has not responded to a request for comment.

A source familiar with recent discussions about Haspel’s potential firing told CNN that it is not surprising she was excluded from this meeting given the recent tension between her and Ratcliffe.

Some more context: Ratcliffe is in charge of the agenda for Oval Office meetings of this nature and the Presidential Daily Brief is compiled by the Office of the Director for National Intelligence based on intelligence from various agencies, including CIA.

CNN reported Thursday that some Trump advisers believe Haspel has been "insubordinate" to both the President and Ratcliffe, arguing she routinely circumvents the chain of command to further her own agenda and that of the CIA.

But while multiple sources have told CNN they expect the President to fire Haspel, they have also emphasized that nothing is set in stone until Trump makes an announcement.
