有没有学过SEG4000的?

那课有六个学分,是不是很难,有什么特别的地方吗?

我可以的,因为我大三有门课免修了,正好可以选这门.所以想问问,下个学期就学了.

but still suggest you not take those 4th year course so early, coz u hvae only been here on a very short time.....better get used to the study here before taking any 4th year courses. another suggestion for you to think about for next year, apply for internships, u get the credits, and no need to do all the assignment,get real-work experince, expand you network, and looks good on your resume.

intership因该是属于实习一类的吧。 上班但是是不给报酬， 但是算学分的，时间是一学期，你可以同时上课。 internships are offered to everybody inclding international students. the application are usually during summer for fall positions, and your cgpa needs to be really high, at least 8.5 i think, different faculty requirs differently.
When i was in first year, i had friends who are in 4th year, got job offers through internships after they graduate (they are VISA students). So i think interns are really good for VISA students coz u get working experince and get know more people.

SEG4000 is the 4th year software engineering PROJECT course. It involves developing a software project in a group environment. It spans over 2 semsters. The ones that start in Winter session，that you are interested in registering for, is specifically designed for the 4th year co-op student, who had their last co-op session in the summer. That means if you register for seg4000 in the winter, you will take a break in the summer session, and continue with THE SAME PROJECT, SAME GROUP in the fall 2004 semster.

What does this mean for you? Well, if you don't mind followng a co-op student schedule that by all means go ahead and register for it. you will finish by the end of fall 2003 semster. If you want to stick to your regular curriculum (maybe you hav friends who are in the same schedule as you), than take your 1st SEG4000 session in fall 2004 semster and finish by the end of winter 2004.

国际学生本来就不能申请COOP,啥时学不都一样?不是很懂鸡蛋的意思,对我来说,没有什么大几的概念,能修的课就修.

This is a project course, which means that you will have to complete a project with others with in the duation of the course( 8 months).

If your are not in 4th yet, it is difficult for you to find partners since most students prefer to work with friends or at least acquaintances.

There are a lot of document writing, group meeting, and software implementation involved with this course. So, you better to try to work with people whom you can trust in both ability of work and personality to work with.There are people who are excellent programmer but very bad team players, if you are unfortunate enough to hook up with this type of people, you will loose mark because "bad project management".

Anyway,this is a "group" course, and therefore it's not a good idea to register it without having a good team ready.
