to tell you the truth, i am not too sure about the procedure. but i guess you have to at least show where you will stay, for how long and why you want to visit canada. i am sure you will need a lot more documents than i just listed. i think you should contact with some agents about this.

Basically, even though CIC allows visits to Canada in the name of tourism, they will sedom approve this. The above comments are mostly right. YOu should prepare more documents than what CIC checklist requires. So it's better to come in other names.
