I have used gas stove (brand is "GE") for 14 years. One of the ignition has already bee broken for about 8 years. I just use BBQ lighter to start the fire veryday with no any problem. No gas leaking at all.
If you want to buy gas stove, the most important thing is to check if your kitchen has installed the valve for switching to gas stove. If it is not installed when the house was built, you cannot use gas stove. If you do bakery or broil food (e.g. roasted rid, chicken, BBQ duck...) very often, better buy a gas stove with fan.
