today, BOF or unibody r not the law 2 define an SUV or Crossover

many newly designed SUV like VW Tourage give up BOF

but still got impressive off road ability

tell u wat, even Jeep use unibody for their SUVs(Grand cherokee)

im not saying unibody is the better way 2 build suv

sure u can a BOF guy, n u CAN fight ur own opinion

but show some respect at least

go check CAR n DRIVER May 2007 issue may help u outta this

yoh, I just told that guy to understand the concepts before he start talking about car-based-suv(In his words)and Exporior(Sorts).

I'm a Unibody guy, and don't bring up Tourage, it was designed from ground up to be the king of the hill. for sure it is NOT the case for Japs when they start to extend their sedan platforms into SUVs.

just for the post u modified a min ago, GX, LX, Patrol are all BOFs, so those can't support the theory that Japs would make great off-roaders(unibody) from their sedan platform.

也许你应该去研究研究unibody和BOF的区别，不要误人子弟

我在这里不是跟人讨论承载式与非承载式车身的优劣，二者间的区别和优劣也不劳您老提醒。大家买车也没几个人是专门为了越野而去的，通常上下班代代步，周末或者假期到不是太远的地方转悠转悠而已，楼主发这个帖子问的是compact SUV，就事论事地回帖才是对人家的起码尊重。

还有，在如今这个时代，采用承载式车身结构的SUV已经已经越来越多，这是因为如今的悬挂技术和性能早已不复当年可比，长时间的越野过程中，悬挂比车架的意义更重要。而且，汽车厂商在推出新款（型）SUV时，其设计思路式取决于市场定位的，即便是越野车的鼻祖JEEP，它的产品也越来越多地采用承载式车身，为什么？你能回答吗？

又回头看了一下，貌似没搞清楚unibody和BOF的区别的其实另有其人。
