All the French classes are offered in French. There is French Placement Test you have to pass in order to take it. If you are an absolutely beginner, I suggest you start with FINS first, which is offered in English.

BTW, there is no EXTRA admission FEES IF you are a carleton university student ---- as long as you pay the tuition.

Oh, It's actually also a french course in Carleton. It is offered in English, for those who have NO French background. The course focus on reading only. The course code was 1006, my friend took it, and got a A+. She told me school might change the course code, so, you'd better take a look at University Calendar, read the description of course, I'm sure you'll see the one that is ONLY focus on reading, and that's the ONE.

If you have no French background, you're not allowed to take the French 1001 and 1002. (maybe code numbers are not accurate.) 我的那个朋友就是学完了reading的那门课后才被允许上French 1001 的.
