You are kind of lucky
You only lost $200 without suffering other terrible things. You will find it is so worth to only lost money and avoid 4 months terrible experience. What you found is just a piece of the iceberg.
Almost every tenant fell be cheated after moving in. You have a chance jump out before move in. You are lucky.
A person who lived there before
* They will never tell tenants there is a kid in the apartment before you moved in. Everybody knows what a kid means in home especially they are dedicated to rent rooms to Students.
* The terrible smell in Kitchen never disappears due to the overnight garbage and unwashed dishes.
* The terrible smell in washroom due to the shortage of toilet paper and cleaning.
* Crowed rooms
* Always changing tenants, short term and long term.
* Never locked door not only tenants' living rooms but also the outside door.
* Always changing promises in price and deposit
* Strange relationship

1.你们谈好的价格是散住的价格.确保楼主在下飞机的时候有地方住.
2.定金是交了,但交的可能不是8月的长住的定金.

我不知道这位房东到现在损失了什么,但这对新移民起码损失$200。
ottawa很小的,为了$200,值得吗?除非你的房子不想再租了,你这么搞,就算你说的都是真的,我也不敢去这窝,总不能拿自己去证明这事是对是错吧。
说的难听点,这里是加拿大,不敢拿你怎样,如果在中国,看这个‘中国微笑’就不敢这么横了。
难怪我斜对面那house前几个月在凌晨4点着火了呢,也是中国房东,分租给无数人。着火那天天还挺冷,无数人从里面跑出来,可怜。
