The member of the union PSAC are just ordinary working staffs in the gorvernment. They do not have much power. Compared to people who do not have a satisfactory job at present, they should be pleased.
The real 当官的 never go on strike because they got a 10-15% salary increase this year. The real 当官的 (EX level or higher) do not belong to any union, and their salary is decided by the Treasure Board.
P.S. my union is PIPSC not PSAC.
EX-level executives also receive so-called performance bonuses, which ordinary working-level public service employees do not receive. 2% raise per year barely meets the annual inflation rate. For several years in 1990s, public service employees had no increases, but only wage cuts.

When I started in mid-1990s, my salary was < 30K.

PSAC has power and stupid to force this happen, governement already agreed to give 6.9%, but PSAC wants to have 8%, just for 1.1% more..... and in this 1.1% 50% will goes to the tax..back to government and union will take part of it...if PSAC really wants to help, they should increase the benefits instead of real pay!..that just a union game!!!
