please recommand a real chinese restaurant

Hi,

I have a friend who wants to try "real" chinese food. Does anybody know that there any chinese restaurant in ottawa is good? and which dishes is special? I am thinking to take him for Hot Pot (Huo Guo), is there any chinese restaurant still have that service in this season? By the way, he doesn't eat pork.

I don't go to chinese restaurant here often, so any recommandation is welcome. :thanks:

sounds like your friend is not a Chinese. In that case, just take him to any of the Chinese restuarant and he will be happy.

If you and your friends are not satisfied with the food and services of all Chinese restaurants here in Ottawa, then my best suggestion is that you should cook for your friends.

Honestly, I never bring my out-of-town friends to eat in any Chinese restaurant in Ottawa, unless they requested. Otherwise, they all will swear that they are not coming to Ottawa for a second time.

However, if they are your real friends, they will appreciate your effort in preparing meals for them. And you fellows will have a much enjoyable time together.

Also, if your friends are not Chinese, it would be a very good opportunity to introduce them what and how ordinary Chinese people eat everyday. I am sure they will love such kind of eating experience.

If you fellows are true friend of each others, I am sure nobody will mind if your dishes are not that great.

There are different kind of chinese food, GuaugDong, Shichuang, Hunan, Beijing. etc.
All chinese restauants on Somerset are authentic.

One of my friends told me, if you are not sure about the resturant, Guaugdong foods are fine. Other types of foods are difficult to cook to a good standard.

As far as Hot Pot, just invite the friend to your place. Buy one or two packs of sliced beef and lamb meats and some chinese vegetables.
