很急很急的问题!求求各位帮我出出主意啊

我是个OU的留学生,是当时从多伦多的预科学校考过来的,去年9月份过来渥太华大学上学的,我因为在国内念过一年大学.所以最近想到可以转一些学分过来.前一阵子家里给我准备好材料然后给我寄了过来,我上个星期递交给学校后,学校今天给我来了一封信,说不仅要拒绝我转学分的请求,还有对我没有如实说我上过大学的事加以追究. 当时我刚来加拿大时办签证时就没有说我上过大学,为了是签证容易些.但是我不知道大学是怎么发现的,可能是预科那里也有我的材料说我没上过大学.
就是这样的情况，我都急死了不知道该怎么办.
各位如果谁有经验帮帮小弟我,不胜感激了!

你的credibility成问题了

比较难说园，只怪小兄弟那么健忘。如果你入学时其他没有造假，在学校记录一直良好的话，俺认为只能照实说，为了来加拿大留学放弃国内大学一切经历，还好大学不是移民局。

please post the orginal letter from OU. It is at this point hard to gauge what they said in the letter and what they wanted to do.

but to make it up, you can lie again ... just say that it is someone else has the same name as you do ... but hope you didn't give then the save ID

这招不灵，等于再骗大学一次，变成贯于欺骗的人。

俺觉得事到如今只能照实说，亲自上门找发信的人，解释你的原因。谁能无过？何况年轻人，只要你在大学记录一直良好，很大可能会没事的。俺认为机会大学定会给的。大学也不是移民局，这也不是大不了的事。你在大学会留下不良的诚信记录是肯定的。

当然，如果你过去大学记录不算很好，这回就比较难过去！

这种事，事到当头不能回避，只能面对。

honesty is always the best policy, especially when your future is on the line. I would strongly suggest that following:

1. admit that you had been in another university for ONLY one year.
2. tell them that the reason you did not tell the truth was because you wanted to get into a Canadian university without having to explain all the concerns they might have (why you drop out? why want to come here...) However, do not try to elaborate on the immigration issue (you do not they to have an impression that you lied to the visa officer), such as it is easier to get a visa...unless asked to, and if asked, tell the truth.
3. show that you are sincere, and willing to collaborate
4. do not be overly concerned
5 if propriate, argue that the part you knowingly omitted would not negatively affect your U of O offer even if it was presented before. Therefore it should not be the reason that they revoke your admission.
6. the bottom line is to keep the offer.

the sooner the better. Looks like they will form some kind of committee to look into this matter. But before you go there, make sure you prepare what you have to say (in English). Also I would talk to best friends (and here on CFC) for advice and see what is their take on this. Maybe some of them will give you different perspectives. Do not worry too much, I think you will be fine.

学校说明天要给我寄什么处分,是不是那种象国内大学的那种记过处分之类的类似的东西呢?

an allegation will be sent to you to summarize what you have done wrong to them. They might allege you from either one of these:
1. went to another university, but never deleared it before the admission
2. did not go to another university, but trying to make false statement and trying to transfer credits.

from what I read in the letter sent to you, the first one is most likely. You will have a chance to argue and dispute their allegations in fron of the committee, and the committee will make a final decision. This is my guess, but I never have to go through this here even though I got a 记过处分 in China (not something I want to brag about).

你可以这样解释:

当初你申请入学时，因为只在国内上了一年大学，再加上对英语理解有误，所以你不认为是上过大学。

经过在OU两个学期的学习，你才明白，在国内上了一年大学，也算上过大学，所以才申请转学分。

关键要突出，你没有骗人的主观意愿，not on purpose.

BTW，是你自己告诉OU你上过大学的，但预科的档案可能转给了OU。一般来说，学校不喜欢转学分，因为学校没赚到钱。
