My friend just had his and his wife's medical examination. He is waiting for the letter from Canada EMbassy Beijing office. He sent me this message, He is confused about the below which confused me too..Hope somebody can help...Thanks a lot!!!

***********************************

All family members, whether accompanying or not, are required to successfully meet medical and criminal admissibility requirements at the same time as you. The only exceptions are a
spouse from whom you are legally separated but not divorced, or if you have children for whom you do not have legal custody. These persons are not required to undergo medical and background screening in connection with your immigration application. However, if they do not undergo this screening, you cannot later sponsor them as members of the Family Class as they will be described under paragraph 117(9)(d) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations which stipulates the following:

117(9) No foreign national may be considered a member of the family class by virtue of their relationship to a sponsor if
(d) the sponsor previously made an application for permanent residence and became a permanent resident and, at the time of that aaplication, the foreign national was a
non-accompanying family member or a former spouse or former common-law partner of the sponsor and was not examined.

You may therefore wish to accommodate possible future changes in circumstances by having them undergo medical and background screening at this time, thereby retaining your dependents' eligibility to be sponsored by you in the future.

NON - ACCOMPANYING DEPENDENT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

"All family memebers" means YOUR family, including youself, your spouse and your children. It has nothing to do with your parents or parents-in-law.

"All family memebers" means YOUR family, including youself, your spouse and your children. It has nothing to do with your parents or parents-in-law.

More clearly say, the family definition in Canada is you, your spouse and children. parents and parents-in-law are not considered your family members. you can sponsor them immigrate later by relative sponsor immigration application after you landed and have sufficient income to quarantee their ten years expense.

Thanks a lot

Thanks a lot, everybody! I will let him know...
