As for this instance, time difference is a factor... The deadlines for print media are before mid-night.

Well, it won't be NEWS tomorrow. Even they carry it, it won't be on the front page (even they could do it today, it would not appear on the front page either).

　　美国目前至少有6颗间谍卫星在刺探中国的航天情报


　　10月12日上午9时，伴随着巨大的轰鸣声，中国神舟六号载人飞船成功发射。
美国航天局早在飞船发射前就说，将会发表书面声明,祝贺“神六”成功发射。美
国的宇航员都期许



中国航天员能安全完成任务。


　　但在台面下，美国各部门的情报人员，则在日夜监视酒泉卫星发射中心的一
举一动。情报部门和科研机构调整了卫星和雷达天线的角度，军方人士更是公开
称，空军的航天司令部将会监测“神六”从升空、运行到降落的所有动作。


　　早在神舟六号发射前，西方媒体便开始猜测飞船的发射时间。“神六”发射
前两三天，西方媒体普遍猜测飞船将于北京时间12日上午9时30分发射升空。这些
猜测没有明确消息来源，但结果却很相似，而且每次都猜得八九不离十。


　　其实，据美国航空航天界专家透露，美国情报部门完全可以根据“神舟”飞
船的位置和发射塔建设等情况，判断飞船的发射时间。而美国媒体“据可靠消息
来源”所做的有关酒泉发射中心测试厂房、发射塔架、指挥控制中心等报道，其
中消息来源就更是不言而喻了。


　　华盛顿五角大楼4区C座956号房间是美国“太空系统办公室”所在地。它其实
也是美国国家侦查局总部所在地。在美国各大情报机构中，该局算得上是刺探中
国航天计划的主力，集中了美国空军、五角大楼、中情局等数个机构中与太空有
关的人才。目前美军在全球的38个卫星控制站中，有15个为它服务，各类间谍卫
星也随时归其调遣。


　　曾经有一名美国情报人员露骨地说过：“美国的目的就是要了解中国太空计
划的一举一动，甚至包括中国第一名宇航员是不是左撇子。”长期以来，美国情
报机关一直在试图打造一个以间谍卫星、侦察机、电子测控船以及监听站为核心
的系统，测探中国的航天情报。在美国军事部门眼中，航天基地不仅是未来战争
中的打击重点，而且还可以通过对其进行监视，获取重大军事情报。
