Oral English seems like to be the biggest issue for Chinese who come to Canada. I know Chinese people are good at English grammar, composition, and reading.Open your mouth to talk is hard to be good at.Why? What makes it so hard? Everybody who comes to read this, please drop few lines, and share your opinions with other people. We learn English together. Thanks

find a canadian boy friend, around mid 30 to 40, divorced or separated, get involved with some argement with him, oh yes that would do

Well personally I don't think it's really hard 2 talk once u r good at grammar--all I do is talkin' 2 my friendz all day long and my oral english improves as the time goes by.

grammar is no concern ... 99% of the people don't use dictionary grammar

Well I think grammar is really important 4 ppl who r not native speakers. If u r a 5 yr-old-child,U dun really need grammar;but over 12 yrs I'm afraid u have to learn the language by logic and grammar, not simply by immitating others. And BTW,I think 99% ppl USE GRAMMAR--both native speakers and non-native ones.Only those illiterate people who never get a chance to be educated for their whole life might never use a Dict. of Grammar.

Grammar is important, but how to convert your good grammar skills into oral English?

to pay attention of what people was talking whether during the conversation or by watching TV.

9 out of 10 chinese students at school talk in their own language.... u dont practice u will never get better

Maybe the vocabulary and idiom.Like me,I came here 3 months ago,the biggest problem for me is that:with few words and idioms ,sometimes I can't express myself,so I try to hear others' talk, watch TV to learn their custom.
One day,I went to the library to renew the book, the 图书管理员(对不起,我又不会说了)told me that somebody have requested the book so I can't renew it.So I know in that situation, I should use "request".But if I only stay at home and don't go out ,I will never learn that.
And now,I am trying my best to express myself in English. If it is really a bad article, sorry in advance~~~~
Thank you for reading.

Can you tell me what is this sentence mean?3Q~~~

Something about oral English:
1. Pay attention to your pronunciation.Whenever it's good, you may get a sense of speaking fluent English. Pratise it more, you get more. Correct them and put every sound on the right track. Then others can understand you and you can understand others, even if you only talk one word.

2. talk with foreigners more often. Don't always put yourself into Chinese groups. Take it easy. Foreigners are not monsters.

3. When you want to take TOEFl or IELTS, recite more difficult words and use these words communicating with foreigners.

that's all i can say. Hope to communite more with you.
