No doubt at all -> 红车优先 (前提: 一条 lane)

Why it must be single lane? It does not matter how many lanes.

At any intersection where you want to turn left or right, you must yield the right-of-way. If you are turning left, you must wait for approaching traffic to pass or turn and for pedestrians in your path to cross. If you are turning right, you must wait for pedestrians to cross if they are in your path (Diagram 2-13).

这个真值得看看,比如上面提到的情况“If you are turning left, you must wait for approaching traffic to pass or turn”,还有提醒“signalling does not give you the right-of-way. You must make sure the way is clear. ”

"You must make sure the way is clear"

this is always true, and driving with caution

You are right. The red car always has the right of the road. However, every parties must be cautious in practice if there are more than one lane.

it's not clear here in the text itself, note the first sentence says if you want turn "left or rigt", you must yield. in our case, that means green car must yield to the approching traffic, ie those that don't turn, and the red car, because it turns, it must yield, in our case to the green car that has already entered the traffic and the intersection.

another thing that seems to me ambiguous here is, is the red car in our case, whichi is about to turn right, part of the "approching traffic"? to me it's not, because it's turning, only traffic that go straight past the intersection counts as "approching traffic".

any the from the cited txt, it's still not very clear who should yield.

to answer the quesiton of "what if the red car changes idea and chooses not to turn?" I think I didn't make my question clear: my question should've been "should the red car yield to the green one which is already in the intersection?". it's self-evident that the driver of green car has already determined that there's no approching traffic.
btw,we are discussing sth that it not clear so stop this patronising tone.

The MTO regulations are clear enough without any confusion. That is, in answering LZ's Q, the red car has the right of way. Just this simple.

Fingers crossed. :-) If anything went wrong, the driver of the green car would be ticketed.

Of course. But this is not the case here. There are separate rules on the Yield or Stop signs.
