The two way maybe you can try:

1. Go to 1800 Bank street to renew your sticker right away. It opens from Monday to Friday. If everything is ok, bring your insurance paper or card with new sticker go to police station on Elgin street and show them what you have. Police officer will put a withdrawn seal on your ticket and everything should be ok since then. However, you have to keep the ticket at least 6 months just in case something's gone wrong with the computer.

2. If you can not do what I said above, go to police station on Elgin street and ask officer to give you more time to do so. Of course you should tell them why you need more time.

Every police car has installed a device, which likes a scanner gun. The device can scan your plate number and sticker instead of eyes of cops. If everything is ok, green light will show up in the device. If something wrong with the vehicle such as stolen car or circumstances like you facing now, the device will show up red light. The cop will follow your car and check his computer to figure out what kind of problems your car has, then stop you.

谢谢你得建议,打了这么多字. 我终于明白了police officer是怎么运作的. 我打了电话问了,也去了police station,我的tickets都cancle了. 谢谢帮助.
