You can perform a little test to help deciding what you should do:

1. Non-residency test

The concept of deemed residence. An individual is deemed to be a resident of Canada for the entire year which include:
* sojourning in Canada for 183 days or more in a year;
* being a member of the Canadian forces;
* performing services outside Canada under an international assistance program of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), if the individual was resident in Canada at any time during the three months prior to the day the services commenced; and
* being an officer or servant of Canada or a province if, immediately prior to the appointment, the individual was resident in Canada.

At this point, you should be able to determine whether he/she is classified as a deemed resident or non resident, which will help you to decide in your next test to determine what type of tax liability that person is facing.

2. Income Tax Liability test

Full-time residents are subject to tax on their worldwide or global income throughout the entire calendar year.
In the computation of net income for tax purposes, all domestic and foreign sources of income, including capital gains, must be included. It is common for a taxpayer to pay tax in a foreign country and in Canada. In such circumstances, Canada may allow a foreign tax credit on the full amount of the foreign tax paid, or an international tax treaty or convention may limit the right of Canada to tax foreign income.

A non-resident person may be subject to tax only if they were employed in Canada, carried on a business in Canada or disposed of a taxable Canadian property.
The tax liability for the non-resident person would be calculated on the income from these items only, not world income.

At this moment, you should have a general idea of which catagory that you belong to, and in terms of the T forms (i.e. T4, T4A, T5 etc.....) you can contact the issuers to give you a duplicate copy, hence you are currently residing in China.

To response to your request of an accountant, you could ask any certified accountants (CA, CMA, & CGA) to help you prepare your tax return,
whether the accountant is in China or Canada.

This is just a brief inormation that help you to get a sense of what your position is in terms of your tax liability in Canada.
