no meat or meat products are allowed from China. They have a machine (like x-ray) that will detect mean products in your luggage.
Totally depends on luck!
I always carry a lot of snack from China and have never been checked. Used to pack into the big suitcase but now I take a small carryon full of food, just walk confidently and smile, as long as you avoid the attention of dogs in the airport, you should be fine.
Just personal opinion, to be safe, better not risk too much.
