不是美国的个人所得税低于加拿大吗?

加拿大人收入高吗? 我看过某高校的工资表, 一个普通教授, 年薪也就七八万, 稍微有些资历的, 也就十万左右. 都是税前. 比新加破还低.

如果加拿大收入真这么高, 那加拿大的一流人才流入美国的绝对趋势就应该没有.

it is hard to say on your info. you should look at the whole package. for me, besides my salary, I pay roughly $9800 for health insurance for family, 75% of which is covered by my company. in canada, you may pay very little for it. other things like matching funds from your company for your retirement contriubtion. tax rate is not much higher than canada. however, if your package only includes salary, your $70,000 is likely less than C$70,000.

something you need to consider: will the company sponsor you a H1-B visa or no? if the company does not want to sponsor you H1-B, the offer is less attractive since you will need the H visa to stay in the US for extended period of time and switch to green card. Is this offer only 70K or 70K plus benifits (e.g. health insurance and 401K). The benifit here will make a lot of difference.

no use for asking 70 equals to 60. money is not everything. working environment, living environment, schoools, universities, safety, lots of things decide where one lives. some come to Canada or US even without the prospect of a job though they are well paid in China. if you focus too much on money, rob a bank might be the quickest way.
