Bamboo floor is a very good floor. The good quality one hard as the hardest hardwood floor, and it is more stable than hardwood floor when temperature and humidity changes. It is not cheap either. I would like to have it in my living room. It is relative new in Canada but already quite popular in Japan for sometime.
When you buy a house, the location and the structure of the house like how many bath rooms is the most important thing. I would not concern too much about the type of floor or the color of wall. Because they can be changed later for small amount of money.
