I have a centra vacuum rough-in in my basement, but I want to install it in the garage. Is it hard to intall it? How to? If it is hard, please recommend a good installer.
I posted a couple of topics regarding this issue back a while ago, I was in search for a right place to install the unit and had done tremendous research on the Internet, finally I decided to have it installed in the garage, you can read the posts here:
As concluded by most, routing the pipe to the garage could be a tricky task. Also, you'll have to be skillful enough to work around in a tight space as you have to drill, glue and run the pipes around the joists and ducts.
Fortunately I was able to find a very knowledgeable and skillful handyman, Alain. I provided the parts, and he spent almost an entire day to plan and complete the job in a meticulous manner, all pipes well hidden and run in between the joists, securely attached, fully tested.. I was charged $200 for 4 drops, which I considered a bargain! Give him a try, (and mention my name Mark from Kanata) I am sure he won't disappoint you!

I love the Canavac filtration system, seems to be much better than the ones sells by Hoover.
The place I brought it is called Super Vac, there are 2 models, 1 is 399Q which has a metal body, another is P399Q has a plastic body, the P399Q is about $150 less than the 399Q.
I had it installed in the garage, it keep all the dust out of the house, the unit is very quiet and has a very long warranty .
Thanks a lot! Ask a silly question: what are the 4 drops? I will contact the installer.

4 drops means there are 4 opening down pipe ends, usually located at the basement's ceiling. If you count the number of outlets you have on one floor, chances are there are that many drops in total.
