just a little fun, a little. It pushes you to thinking of manipulating those machines not allow you to focus on driving itself. It will definitely steal your reaction time at extreme situations. For example, when you are driving on a highway at 100km/h and occur a sadden accident ahead of you that needs you to slow down immediately then turn right or left to another lane. At such a scene, if you are driving a auto car, what you need to do is to hit the brake as hard as possible, when the speed is right, make a turn. On the other hand, a stick one requires you to take care of the gear to avoid died engine. So, you will have to calculate the decreasing speed, then, at the right time, switch you gear from 5th to the first one, and finally, you can safely make a turn. Otherwise, without properly switch your gear on time, you will force the engine stop and lose your brake.
Most importantly, if you drive a stick car, at such an extreme scenario, you will have to sit strike in order to make sure you can control your steel wheel correctly. Since you are dealing with your stick at that time, your body may turn right a little to make the action easy but that will make your left hand that holds the wheel to right a little as well.
As a slow man as I am, I will try any possible chance to avoid a stick car.
