Four flight attendants were injured when an Air Canada flight from Shanghai to Vancouver was forced to make an emergency landing at Japan's Narita airport on Sunday night, the airline says.
Flight 38 had been travelling for about an hour after leaving the Chinese city when it ran into strong turbulence that forced the diversion of the Boeing 767.
None of the 186 passengers on board were injured, Air Canada officials said.
The flight attendants, who were all Canadian citizens, were taken to hospital, the airline said. It didn't release any details about their injuries.
However, police in Japan said the attendants mainly suffered minor scratches and bruises.
Initial reports from Koyodo News agency had erroneously indicated that four passengers and a flight attendant were injured.
