Katimavik E.S is a French Immersion School.All the students are taught in French at least 50% of their day.
If your son want to attend this school now, he need go to the Early French Immersion classes. It is a little hard for him since the others already have studied in 100% French for one and half years. You also could let Your son study in regular English school to Grade 3, then go to the MFI of Katimavik E.S. in Grade 4.

Katimavik offers a kindergarten to grade 8 Early French Immersion program, a grade 4 to 8 Middle French Immersion program, and a grade 7 and 8 Late French Immersion program. An English junior kindergarten program is also offered. The children are taught in French 100% of the time in senior kindergarten and grade 1. With the introduction of English in grade 2, the French portion drops to 80% and is gradually reduced to about 50% from grade 5 onwards. In grade 4 MFI the students are taught in French for 75 - 80% of their day. In grades 5, 6, 7 and 8, math is taught in English to the EFI students. Although French is the language of instruction in 100 - 50% of their day, the children study the same curriculum ontent as their peers in the regular English program.
