I live in Orleans. It does have many French Speaking people, beacuase most of them work in Gov't. However, it is not true that Orleans has many black people.
Orleans is a very safe area and is convenient to go to downtown.
It's interesting to see people come up with all kinds of rumors without any supporting facts. My advice, be your own judge and visit few places in that area, if street are clean, neighbors are quiet, parks and facilities are nearby, chances are it's a nice place.
If your work is further down to the east, you should not have problem commuting to work as you are against traffic anyways.
On a side note, since chinese parents like rankings, many french elementary schools are on the top rankings among ontario schools..
I don't know that. But the good thing in Oleans is that everything is cheaper than in Kanata. If you want to buy a set of ski, I found the same brand and quality, it's cheaper than in Kanata.
