If you can succesfully open a banking account without the assistance of an account officer who speaks Chinese or the help of an interpretor, then you can successfully buy a house/apartment. Agent won't save you money. Youself can do it, even you can't "talk" well. However, you might want to have a real estate lawyer, and a home inspector. They will guard your interest more than an agent does or will. I am not even a real property owner, so don't take my words seriously. But intuition told me those Chinese speaking "agents" are going to rip you off and make you mad.

好的和坏的没多大区别。好的耐心点而已，不会带你看完两栋就催你买。

再说，买房更不用经纪了，自己在mls上或grapewine上看看就好啦。看上了，自己预约，看房。。最后找律师和验房师就可以了。

But you have to pay more.... 5% of total.
Even though it paid by seller, but it is included in the total price, so actually it is paid by buyer.

[经验教训]

一个星期太短了.还不如来了以后短租个房子慢慢看.象你这样一定要在这么短时间买个房子,很有可能买了个不满意的还多花个1-2万以上,有你后悔的.......
还想找个经纪?想省事?后果就是被卖的彻底.除非你不在乎这几万,另说.
