Help! we got a red light ticket in States

Unfortunately we got a red light ticket in States. And that was a mistake. Even our daughter saw the yellow light when we passed there.
It's too far away to go to the court there and it's not fair for us to pay for that $300.
Any suggestion?

Do you live in Ontario?

In which state did you receive the 'failure to obey red light' ticket?

If it was the State of New York or the State of Michigan, it might be a good idea to hire a 'traffic ticket expert' to flight for your ticket because your Ontario demerit point record would be impact? Check the MTO offical reference Information: Demerit Point System

Do you mean I can't go to States anymore? even I won't drive?

I live in Ontario. and it happened in Florida. I've checked the website, it seems won't be that bad.
BTW, any traffic ticket expert recommended?

It is SERIOUS. Be very careful.

You MUST settle it. That is, pay the money or go to court or hire someone do it for you. You MUST solve it.

Otherwise, if you just leave it and after several month ( I am not sure how long). Then, the next time you go to US, you will be sent to jail directly. I am not kidding, JAIL.

Thank you all for the very helpful info. We've found the website of the driving license office there and they provide quite easy access for travelers who have "trouble" like us. We'll need to fill up a form and send it by email. Let's wait and see now.
