What's your OS? I am pretty good at Windows Registry stuff, NT is simple, 2000 and XP are little bit tricky, loads of security features, but still I can't figure out what the virus can do there to affect the key board.

我今晚要大战一番，不到万不得已是绝不会轻易将硬盘格式化的，里面有好几个软件再就很难装上了

I have the upgrade version of Win 98 (with copyright), but I can't remember in which PLMM's hand now

我以前装过win98_2nd，但是我当时的modem不工作。这是台日本带来的机器，日本的电脑很封闭，总有些不规范化的奇怪东西在里面，只有让它就这样了，过两天就该淘汰了

重新装WINDOWS应该可以，我的2000下的IE突然不能解码，估计是病毒作用的结果，重新安装2000后，OKAY了

什么是ghost？

ghost，好东东，我们一直用它

ghost是Norton utility里的一个小工具。基本功能是将硬盘或者逻辑分区镜像成一个大文件。当你需要时，可以将整个文件再倒回硬盘，那么倒回去后你的硬盘或者逻辑分区就和dump时一样了。

我个人使用方法：
step 1: install OS from scratch.
step 2: install all drivers(sound card etc)
step 3: install needed applications.
step 4: ghost the desired physical disk/logical section to a ghost mirror file.
step 5: burn the mirror file and ghost exe file to CD-RW and make the CD-RW bootable.

当你想要恢复机器时，用光盘启动，吊ghost恢复一下。当然，你现在硬盘上的文件将被全部overwrite。我测试过，安装win2K要35分钟，但是将Win2k, drivers, msdev, 等软件恢复，只需要5分钟都不到。
缺点是你必需做好backup。还有就是分区一旦定下来就不能动了，除非你把整个硬盘backup下来。
ghost有相当好的压缩功能，一般我采用最高压缩率存储文件，能压缩到原有空间的50-55%左右。如果文件太大，一张CD-RW放不下，网上还有很多cut文件的软件，你可以用它们分割大文件
