You can provide a copy of your landing paper. That is a permanent record with no expire date, like a citizenship card.
Mapleleaf Card is a travel document and it has an expire date, like passport.
But the two documents have the same function. So use landing paper.

How about I write a letter to the visa office and explain that my previous card expired and I have applied to renew my new card but have not received it yet. I will also submit the landing paper. Is this better?
