SKILL Software Developer (contract) – Ottawa
Chipworks reverse engineers and analyzes semiconductor and microelectronic systems for two distinct and complementary groups. Patent Intelligence customers are law firms and Intellectual Property groups who need Chipworks' support to defend or enhance their licensing positions. Technical Intelligence customers are engineering and product development groups who use Chipworks experience and expertise to help them understand competitive technology, benchmark their innovations and speed their time-to-market.
We are currently seeking a SKILL Software Developer. The SKILL Software Developer is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of software tools in Cadence’s SKILL programming language.
Reporting to the Manager of Development, your primary responsibilities will be to:
· Understand the use and operation of existing tools and techniques
· Define specific requirements for the tools based on high level requirements
· Write and debug SKILL language code
· Conduct code inspections and incorporate feedback
· Conduct user testing and obtain feedback for issues or problems
· Document code and testing
· Monitor and report on project progress against planned milestones
Required technical skills include knowledge of: SKILL programming language, Linux/Unix, SVN and Cadence’s Virtuoso (version 5.1). Technical experience in the following would be considered an asset: Cadence’s Diva or Assura.
The successful candidate will have a University degree (B.Sc, B.Eng), or equivalent practical experience and 2-3 years professional experience in SKILL software development.
