If you are always looking for cheapest price, that is what you would get. Estabished company usually would do a good job and be willing to protect their reputation. But you would pay more.
The most mistake chinese made at home renovation project are.
1) looking for cheapest price, without check the personal or the company. There are lot of scam in this industry.
2) don't have a detail contract. You and your contractor have different view of what is in the job what is not.
3) expecting too much. Because you hire somebody for a piece of work, not like in china you hire a person by days. You can't ask him do something else after or when he finishs his work.
Example some body hire a contractor to replace his carpet to a thicker one. After the contract did a good job for the carpet, the owner find the door wouldn't close besause the carpet is thicker than old one. So owner ask him to fix the door, and believe he should do it since it is the new carpet cause the problem and the cost of fixing door should be included. The guy only being paid to change the carpet or he may or may not have the tool or training to fix the door or the door may need replacement. He refused to do the job. Then a big fight break out. For the owner the job is not finised untill the door is fixed. For contract his job is done and you only paid him for that job.
