Outside the U.S., however, the admittedly beleaguered foreign-based automakers have managed to produce safe, reliable products with remarkable consistency. That's especially the case for midsize cars and SUVs. Midsize vehicles with solid rollover ratings scored the best, and all are moderately priced, such as the $34,995 Acura TL, $31,135 Saab 9-3 and $21,460 Subaru Legacy.
Each car features superior technology and construction. The Legacy, for example, sports a symmetrical all-wheel drive, vehicle dynamics control and a traction control system--all standard on the 2009 model. And the Saab 9-3 has a pendulum B-pillar side-impact structure and head-curtain side air bags and torso bags that protect passengers from side-crash trauma.
 
本次《福布斯》评出的“2009年安全车型”是在美国高速公路安全保险协会碰撞试验得分高的车型中挑选的,入选条件是车辆在正面和侧面碰撞测试中都 有良好表现,总成绩达到4星级以上评价,并且车辆必须配备ESC电子稳定控制系统,满足这些条件才有可能被选入“2009年安全车型”名单中,结果显示, 日系车占很大比例。下面是福布斯选出的安全性高的车型。   

1.本田讴歌MDX

  讴歌MDX在正面碰撞试验中获得满分,车身吸能比较好。后碰撞测试中,车辆后部车身吸能也非常出色。座椅设计的很合理,乘员头部在鞭打试验中评价为“GOOD”。侧面碰撞中,车身结构坚固,侧安全气帘和侧安全气囊很好的保护了乘员身体,得分较高。


  2.本田雅阁
  与同类轿车相比,本田雅阁车身体积设计的较为宽大,在发生碰撞时能够很好的将冲击力分散吸收。在正面与侧面碰撞测试中,本田雅阁得分很高,车身 结构合理是得到高分的关键。本田雅阁后碰撞测试获得满分,乘员头部在座椅保护下没有受到任何伤害,证明本田雅阁座椅设计很合理。


  3.本田CR-V
  本田CR-V在后碰撞测试中获得满分成绩,证明座椅能够有效防止追尾事故中乘员头部受到的鞭打性损伤。正面与侧面碰撞的成绩也同样出色,本田CR-V配备的侧安全气囊与侧安全气帘在侧面碰撞中对乘员发挥了良好的保护作用。本田CR-V与同类车型相比,安全配置比较齐全,安全性能比较出众。
 
4.奔驰M级

  奔驰M级SUV简洁宽大的车身结构,在碰撞试验中占有很大优势。在侧面碰撞中,侧面配备的安全气帘和安全气囊有效的保护了乘员头部不受伤害,躯干、盆骨部位取得满分。


  5.本田Ridgeline

  本田Ridgeline(大型皮卡)车身整体设计比较宽大,在车身吸能方面占有很大优势,碰撞时车身能够很好的将冲击力分散,达到保护乘员的目 的。从侧面碰撞的满分成绩不难看出,该车的B柱与底梁都非常坚固。通常皮卡的货箱底梁刚性较大,而该车在货箱与乘员舱顶梁连接处增加了一根吸能柱,扩大了 吸收区域,有效的缓解了乘员在追尾事故中受到的冲击力。

  日产Rogue(小型SUV)在动态模拟鞭打试验中,乘员头部保护成绩获得满分。并且在后碰撞中,车身吸能非常出色,有效地防止了碰撞冲击力对成员身体造成的鞭打性损伤。在侧面碰撞中,日产Rogue车身立柱与底梁设计的较为坚固,配备的侧安全气囊和安全气帘有效的保护了乘员的头部、躯干和骨盆,侧面碰撞成绩较好。
 
7.萨博9-3
  萨博9-3在正面碰撞测试中取得满分,车身吸能非常出色,有效地减少了乘员所受的冲击力,在安全带和安全气囊的保护下,乘员头部、颈部和胸部受伤几率较小。在侧面碰撞中,侧面安全气囊很好地保护了乘员头部和身体。

  8.斯巴鲁翼豹
  斯巴鲁翼豹在正面碰撞测试中取得满分,车身结构设计比较合理,在碰撞中能量分散比较均匀,能够将乘员受到的冲击力降到最低,加上安全气囊和安全带对成员头部、胸部的保护,使得冲击力得到有效缓解。斯巴鲁翼豹在前保险杠与翼子板处装配的工程塑料外皮,在行人保护方面能起到良好的缓冲作用,减少对行人的伤害。

10.本田Pilot
  本田Pilot(中级SUV)在侧面碰撞试验中成绩优秀,在侧安全气囊与安全气帘的保护下,乘员头部、颈部、躯干和盆骨都没有受到较大伤害。由于SUV车身设计的比较宽大,因此在正面碰撞中吸能效果比较好,在发生碰撞之后能够有效地减轻乘员受到的冲击力。

  11.斯巴鲁力狮
  斯巴鲁力狮在侧面碰撞试验中获得了很高的评价,车身吸能出色,B柱和底梁凹陷较小,侧安全气囊和安全气帘有效地保护了乘员头部、躯干和盆骨。正面碰撞中,车身吸能变形情况较好,安全气囊有效地保护了乘员头部和胸部安全。

  14.丰田汉兰达
  丰田汉兰达在后碰撞试验中得到非常高的分数,在动态模拟鞭打试验中获得满分,证明丰田在改进座椅的安全性方面下了不少功夫。此外在侧面碰撞试验中,侧面安全气囊和安全气帘有效的保护了乘员头部、躯干和胸部。

  15.讴歌TL
  讴歌TL在正面碰撞测试中表现非常好,取得满分成绩,车身变形吸能比较出色,乘员身体在安全气囊和安全带的保护下没有受到伤害。侧面碰撞中安全气囊和安全气帘很好的保护了乘员头部和躯干。
 
看原文下面的读者comments,还是有很多不同意见的,不乏有人认为作者别有用心。但是也不能排除这些读者不是Ford的托,因为所有人都空前一致的认为Ford才是最安全的。

This is among the most inaccurate articles I have read in a long time. Ford has the best safety ratings for 2009 vehicles of all manufacturers, yet somehow managed to get excluded. That took some imaginative manipulation.

I would like to reiterate what has been stated above. Ford has more top picks by the IIHS than any other manufacturer. It has more 5-star ratings from the NHTSA than any manufacturer. Among those are some of Fords increasingly popular vehicles like the Edge, Flex, MKS and its long-time best-seller F-150. The Fusion and Milan and small SUV Escape and Mariner also make the list. Although your methodology is explained it seems contrived just enough to favor a specific manufacturer. But by all other sources besides your test, Ford appears to be the industry leader in safety.

It's revealing that U.S. News & World Report rates the safety of both the 2009 Fusion and Malibu over the Accord, Camry, and Altima. (see http://usnews.rankingsan​dreviews.com/cars-trucks​/rankings/Affordable-Mid​size-Cars/). I would be satisfied if these magazine reporters contented themselves to giving their opinions of ride & handling and left safety analysis to the real experts at the IIHS and NHTSA.
It's impossible to reconcile your conclusions with the 2008 Insurance Institue for Highway Safety study. In the November 2008 IIHS, Ford and its Volvo subsidiary had more top safety picks (16) than any other manufacturer. See the IIHS press release http://www.iihs.org/news​/rss/pr112508.html

After reading several of this guy's articals, I've come to the conclusion he just doesn't like the American brands. Consumer's had nothing but good thinks to say about the Fusion, yet he goes on-and-on about the Accord. I think Forbes needs to evaluate this guy's unbias reporting. Remember, figures don't lie, but liars figure.
